At Trilogy, we believe that your retirement years deserve to be some of the best ever. Gone are the days of requesting time off, scrambling to find babysitters, and struggling just to find open days on the calendar– now, the only thing standing in between you and your next adventure is getting your best friends together to settle on a time and place.
The best part? Moving to a Trilogy community ensures you have the time and the energy to enjoy everything that life continues to offer – even if you need a helping hand getting there.
In a recent study conducted by NORC at the University of Chicago (funded through a grant from the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care), research showed that residents experience a 10% decline in relative frailty levels one year after moving in to a senior living community. This was determined using the Harvard Claims Based Frailty Index, which assessed seniors’ vulnerability to health outcomes “by their rate of chronic conditions, acute conditions, and health services utilization. Residents with the greatest level of need and vulnerability tend to live in properties that offer the most intensive support services.”
This decrease in frailty levels can be attributed to variety of factors – but having frequent opportunities for exercise, engagement, and socialization are chief among them. At Trilogy, our Life Enrichment programming ensures our residents have at least one activity available to them every 40 minutes – with programs that include Artisans painting classes, Lifelong Learning courses that span math, science, and history, and Out and About trips to the best stadiums, events, and restaurants in town.
“Socialization, a restaurant-style dining experience, and medication assistance all help reduce signs of depression among residents – on the contrary, they’re often left feeling better than ever. Additionally, having therapy services and regular activities planned helps ensure our seniors remain just as happy as they are healthy.” – Rhonda Dempsey, Trilogy Health Services Chief Nursing Officer
Additionally, our Skilled Services help our residents get back to feeling 100% just in time for the next theme week – with care options that include rehabilitation services that are 16.49% higher than the national average in section GG-self care, 33.6% higher than the national average in section GG mobility, private and companion suites, pharmacy and lab services, and discharge planning – just to name a few. Once you’re back to feeling like yourself, our SynchronyFIT options will be here to help you take the next step in your recovery journey.
Currently being piloted at 16 Trilogy communities, SynchronyFIT invites our residents to take charge of their wellness with a support team that will always cheer them on. These courses include:
BalanceFIT – Training classes that help prevent risk of resident falls both in and outdoors.
BrainFIT – Residents stimulate their minds with fun games and activities designed to enhance their concentration and memory.
TaiChiFIT – A relaxing movement group that helps improve strength, flexibility. balance, and posture.
YogaFIT- Education courses that increase core, arm, and leg strength,
And that’s not all! Keep an eye on our Facebook page to learn more about this new wellness initiative as it continues to grow across the Midwest.
We’ll continue to provide updates on this ongoing study as they become available – but in the meantime, a Trilogy community is never far away. Whether you’re looking for a tour or just an extra resource, our team of clinical experts will be more than happy to assist you.
