In continuing our mission to become the Best Healthcare Company in the Midwest, 26 of our communities across four states have been recognized as 2024 recipients of the Silver – Achievement in Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). This award signifies our unwavering commitment to improving the lives of our residents through quality care.
The Silver award is the second of three progressive award levels in the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, which honors providers nationwide for their dedication to improving the quality of care for our nation’s elders and individuals with disabilities.
“Earning the Silver award is an incredible honor for our teams,” said Leigh Ann Barney, our President and CEO. “This achievement underscores our dedication to enhancing the quality of care and services we provide to our residents every day. We are proud of our progress and look forward to continuing our journey towards excellence.”
Our Chief Operations Officer, Todd Mehaffey, added, “One of our core missions is to be the Gold Standard of Clinical Excellence in Long Term Care. Seeing 26 of our campuses awarded the Silver National Quality Award is a strong sign that we are making significant strides toward achieving that mission.”
The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program is a rigorous three-level process reviewed and evaluated by trained experts against nationally recognized standards for organizational excellence. The Baldrige Performance Excellence Program standards help organizations achieve superior performance over time to improve the quality of life and care for long-term care residents and staff.

As recipients of the Silver – Achievement in Quality award, our winning campuses can now move on to the final and most prestigious level of the program, the Gold – Excellence in Quality Award.
“Data shows that Silver and Gold awarded providers outperform the rest of the nation, and we are no different,” stated Rhonda Dempsey, our Chief Nursing Officer. “We have seen improved outcomes in key areas such as quality measures, value-based care outcomes, customer service scores, and regulatory outcomes.”
Cathy Bergland, AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board Chair, praised our efforts, stating, “Earning the Silver award is no small feat, and Trilogy Health Services has demonstrated exceptional commitment to quality improvement. This recognition is a clear reflection of their hard work and unwavering focus on delivering superior care and service to residents and staff.”
The National Quality Awards will be presented during Delivering Solutions 24, the AHCA/NCAL Convention & Expo, from October 6-9, 2024, in Orlando, Florida.
