At Trilogy, we believe meaningful care starts with meaningful connections—and a new partnership with Bellarmine University is helping future nurses experience that firsthand.

Several Trilogy communities across Kentucky are now welcoming Bellarmine nursing students into their campuses before formal clinical rotations begin, giving them early hands-on experience in a real senior living setting.

Working alongside campus teams and guided by their instructor, students are creating and leading wellness-focused programs designed to support residents’ physical, emotional, and social well-being. From interactive group activities to one-on-one engagement opportunities, the goal is simple: help residents feel connected, supported, and fulfilled each day.

The partnership also aligns with Trilogy’s evolving approach to Life Enrichment and the upcoming rollout of the TSS model, which emphasizes whole-person well-being rather than traditional “activities.” Students are encouraged to think beyond routine programming and explore what truly helps people feel purposeful, engaged, and valued.

For many students, the experience has offered more than clinical exposure. It’s been an opportunity to build relationships across generations, learn from residents’ life experiences, and see the impact compassionate care can have in everyday moments.

Residents and families have responded positively to the program, sharing appreciation for the students’ energy, creativity, and presence on campus. What began with five student groups has already expanded to include four additional groups this semester — a reflection of both the partnership’s early success and the growing interest in collaborative learning experiences.

As we continue building strong community relationships, partnerships like this one help shape the next generation of caregivers while reinforcing the culture of connection that defines life in our communities.

And while Trilogy leaders hope students will consider returning one day as future team members, the bigger goal is even simpler: ensuring every student who walks through the doors feels welcomed, supported, and part of something meaningful from day one.
