I moved my mother to Wellbrooke after a 2 1/2 week terrible, disappointing and scary experience at Villages of Avon. I met with Chad while my mom was in ER across the street at IU West for lack of care at Villages of Avon. Chad was so compassionate and helped guide me thru changing facilities asap. Although Wellbrooke is not in Humana Advantage Care network, my mother’s life was priority and we moved her. I had a sense of relief and calmness once we arrived at Wellbrooke. Their attitude and professionalism was 180 degrees different. Yes, I had to stay involved with the nurses, but the nurses wanted family involvement. They had nothing to hide. Nurse call lights are responded to, rooms are cleaned, showers are given, laundry is actually returned. Food was acceptable, chef roams the cafe and asks questions. Easy to make salon appts. Easy to come and go with my mom. PT and OT were engaged and wanted her up and about. My mom started coming back alive at Wellbrooke. Cath was removed, wheelchair taken out of her room and replaced with a walker. Wellbrooke is how a rehab facility should be for our elderly. Wellbrooke does not have a terrible urine smell at all. People are regularly cleaning the facility and staff engages with patients. My mom is now living independently in a sr community. Walking with a cane and enjoying her life. Thank you Wellbrooke! Also, the social worker was phenomenal in transitioning my mom to her new sr community. She is very knowledgeable about Medicare and didnt miss a beat! The receptionist at the front desk is a beautiful person that was always pleasant and helpful! I wish I wouldve gotten her name.
