My mother is at The Glen. It seemed like the most appropriate place for the needs of my mom at this time. The staff has been very helpful. The room is set up really nicely. The bathroom really accommodates her being able to move around in a wheelchair. So far, everyone has been extremely helpful, and always courteous and kind. The dining area is very nice, but due to the COVID situation, they’re not actually eating in the dining room. She says the food is very good. It’s kind of hard to rate the experience in the dining room because they are just trying to get back to being able to actually use it. There is an activity program, and they recently had a Chinese New Year party. It’s kind of hard to rate what it would be outside of the COVID situation because they’re limited on what they can do at the moment because of the restrictions in our state due to COVID, as far as taking the seniors out on trips. The activity director has plans for outdoor gardening projects, and trips, and entertainment coming in. My mother has only been there a little bit, so I don’t really know what all has happened. She was just getting settled in, and due to the COVID situation, so many of the things they would be doing, they can’t do at this time. I know they are doing craft classes, and having some entertainment streamed, and small group parties. I believe everybody has done the very best they can to try to make my mother feel comfortable and welcomed. She says the food is good. Everything’s very clean and nice looking, and seems to be kept up well. We had a few issues when she first moved in. We had a door that had to be fixed. It’s not actually their fault, they can’t do a lot right at the moment. Price is pretty comparable to other places in our area. As she declines, they actually have the full skilled nursing side of their community.
