My grandfather (papa) got discharged today and we are writing this review together. In total papa stayed for two weeks. Papa suffers from respiratory issues and upon being discharged from the hospital he needed therapy. Papa is very independent and very stubborn and the only reason he agreed to go to the nursing home was because I convinced him. Overall he had a good experience at scenic hills. The first night he was there he didn’t sleep well because his roommate had the heat turned up VERY high. The next morning when I came to see him he was sweating and said he felt terrible. I talked to the nurse Amanda (such a caring and all around NICE person) and she was able to switch his room within the next few hours where he stayed the rest of his time. Papa absolutely LOVED the therapy nurses. He said they really enjoy their job and they take their time with every patient. He said they did FANTASTIC! Upon his discharge from scenic hills they made sure to send home exercises he could continue at home which I greatly appreciated. Excellent therapy nurses. My grandfather usually went home during the day, after his therapy sessions, and came back at night. Which made the entire transition so much easier for him. The staff was pretty nice and were kind to him. Papa really didn’t mind the stay and I am thankful for the care he received. The only complaint he had was his bed wasnt always made and he didn’t enjoy that. I however have one complaint that I hope the staff will take to heart. My grandfather was informed by one of the activities lady that the nurses were saying he went home during the day to drink. PURE RUMOR. my grandfather hasn’t had a drink in my entire lifetime and I am 21 years old. When he told me about it I was offended. I know how the rumor mill works and I know it’s all speculation but you are a professional place of business and the fact that this was said to my grandfather is not okay. Keep your nose in your work and not in other’s business.
