The residents of The Meadows at Putnam Acres are packing their belongings in preparation for a move that they have been eagerly anticipating for over two years. With today’s opening of The Meadows of Ottawa, the moving date is closer than ever. While the residents’ journey may be short in distance, the difference in their new home is immeasurable.
The Meadows of Ottawa offers a full continuum of senior living and related health care services, including assisted living, short-term rehabilitation, memory care, long-term care, adult day services and respite care; all offered in a home-like setting that features an abundance of private rooms with private baths, chef-prepared meals, and services specially tailored to meet residents’ individual preferences. The Meadows of Ottawa is replacing The Meadows at Putnam Acres (formerly Putnam Acre Care Center), which Trilogy Health Services assumed operations of in August 2012. The Meadows of Ottawa is located at 147 Putnam Parkway, in Ottawa, OH.
The health campus is built on the “Village Center” Residential Living model created by Trilogy Health Services. Village squares have always been a hub of activity in communities across the Midwest- a place to meet, mingle, socialize and catch up on the day’s news and happenings. Friendships were forged, and communities were created through the relationships built around the village square.
The Village Center design allows residents to maximize their independence, while creating a more home-like, less institutional atmosphere. The design features a predominance of private rooms organized into short residential neighborhood areas creating a sense of community for each resident. Services will include Assisted Living, Short-Term Rehabilitation, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care, Adult Day Services and Respite Care. These options will allow the campus staff to care for a wide variety of residents – from those who need little assistance to those with complex medical needs.
According to Randall Bufford, President and CEO of Trilogy, “We were excited to have the opportunity to serve the seniors in the Ottawa area when we first entered into the agreement to operate Putnam Acres in 2012. We are even more enthusiastic today to be able to offer these services in our ‘Village Center’ model community. Our new location will offer a very convenient and comprehensive health care solution for area seniors.”
“We like to say you can feel the difference the minute you walk through the doors of one of our campuses, and you see it everywhere you look,” Bufford continued. “From staff engagement and our focus on customer satisfaction, to the local flavors on our menus, and even the names given to our different residential hallways – everything at a Trilogy campus is focused on our customers’ preferences and helping them have strong social connections, engagement and purpose, while also providing options for all levels of healthcare.”
Eileen Miller, a current resident of The Meadows at Putnam Acres, is counting the days until the move to her new home. “The Meadows of Ottawa will have assisted living and allow me to receive a level of care tailored to my personal needs and activities. The new campus will have more open and private space, and I am looking forward to the new features, such as the private walk-in showers in resident rooms. I am so excited about this opportunity!”
Marnie and Shorty, who have both made The Meadows at Putnam Acres their home, added, “We have always enjoyed being active and participating in many activities and the new opportunities are perfect for us. Shorty will be able to continue his golfing practice on the new putting green, and I will be able to enjoy the relaxation of the beautiful koi fish pond!”
“We are thrilled to be serving residents of Ottawa, Putnam County and the surrounding communities,” said Jim Sherry, Executive Director. “We look forward to bringing our exceptional approach to resident care and services to area seniors. Everything about our campus is tailored to meet our residents’ needs and personal choices."
“We invite members of the community to attend our Community Open House on Sunday, November 23, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., to take tours of our campus and meet our team of caregivers,” continued Sherry. “During our Open House you can learn more about our Founder’s Club specials which offer no move-in fees, as well as first selection of floor plan and location.”
