Logansport, IN (February 16 2009) Opal Miller, Marilee Shriver, Esther Lyons and Millie Bowman, residents at WoodBridge Health Campus in Logansport, were crowned champions in the first Trilogy Wii Bowling Tournament. The team advanced through several brackets including campus level competition and divisional before advancing to championship competition.

When the victory was announced, Esther Lyons' emotions overwhelmed her as she stated "I can't believe we did it!" Fellow team member, Millie Bowman couldn't wait to give the news to her family, "They won't believe me when I tell them!"

WoodBridge Health Campus is a Trilogy Health Services community. Trilogy currently operates 51 health campus locations throughout Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Michigan. Each campus recruited resident teams and staff teams that competed within their campus. Winners of the campus tournaments advanced to six Divisional tournaments. From there six divisional winning resident teams and staff teams advanced to the company-wide championship tournament. Tournament rules include no handicaps, with the scores of the best two out of three games used to determine the winners. The entire team is also required to bowl at the same time.

"Support for the tournament began at the top of our organization with our president, Randy Bufford," stated Vicki Isaacs, Woodbridge Executive Director. "Our company has been a strong proponent of using the Wii in therapy and activities since last spring when our company provided a Wii for each of our health campuses. Since that time we've incorporated the Wii into our therapy program and activity program in a variety of ways."

"The advantage of a Wii Bowling Tournament is that the Wii allows individuals of all capabilities to be active and participate, regardless of physical limitations," continued Ms. Isaccs "Since the controllers are motion sensitive, residents do not need complex coordination that is required to play other video games. The only requirement is the ability to move their hand and arm - with or without assistance."

"We hope the outcome for our residents will be to participate and have fun competing and trying and old skill in a new way, while also building a sense of community and to enhance the quality of their lives in our campuses," concluded Ms. Isaacs.
