Louisville, KY (March 03 2009) Trilogy Health Services today announced that they have broken ground on construction of two new health care facilities scheduled to open in Montgomery County in late 2009. The sites are located in Englewood, Ohio and include a health campus offering a full continuum of services and a freestanding memory care facility.

The health campus will be built on the "Town Square" Residential Living model created by Trilogy Health Services. The Town Square design allows residents to maximize their independence, while creating a more home-like, less institutional atmosphere. The Town Square design features a predominance of private rooms and has living areas designed as a neighborhood creating a sense of community for each resident. Services will include Assisted Living, Short-Term Rehabilitation, Skilled Nursing, and Adult Day Services. These options will allow the campus staff to care for a wide variety of residents – from those who need little assistance to those with complex medical needs.

The Legacy, a neighborhood designed specifically for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, will also be built on the Englewood site. The Legacy design provides maximum independence and personalized care in a secured environment, which resembles a home more than an institution. Features of The Legacy include "life stations" that encourage residents to engage in familiar tasks, décor that encourages memories of days gone by, a secured courtyard that promotes regular contact with nature, family-style dining, and private bedrooms with private baths. The activity programs are specially designed to be responsive to the energy patterns of those living with dementia and are based on protocols embraced by advocacy groups such as the Alzheimer's Association and the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. Staff working in The Legacy will receive additional dementia-specific training that will encompass person-centered approaches to care, communication techniques, behavioral interventions, and working with residents' families.

According to Randall Bufford, President and CEO of Trilogy, "We are looking forward to being a part of the Dayton community and to meeting the senior health needs of its citizens. Our 'Town Square' residential concept is designed with the ultimate comfort and care of each resident in mind."

"We are also very excited about offering expanded memory care services to area residents. The Legacy has been designed to specifically accommodate residents with Alzheimer's disease and other memory challenges - from the colors and lighting used throughout the building, to providing safe and secure access to the outdoor areas. When combined with superior customer service, we believe our health campus and The Legacy will set the standard for senior care in Dayton." added Mr. Bufford.
