Louisville, KY (April 17 2011) Light streams in from windows in the cupola, hitting the clock tower and benches in the center of the Town Square. Around the Square, living rooms, a bistro, and a sunroom offer places to sit and visit, bake a batch of cookies or enjoy a moment’s relaxation. Watercolor painting, gardening, foreign language classes and discussion of the current events are just a few choices on the day’s agenda. All of this is just a small sample of what seniors in Lawrenceburg and the surrounding areas have to choose from with today’s opening of RidgeWood Health Campus and The Legacy at Ridgewood, Lawrenceburg’s newest alternative for senior health and living needs.
RidgeWood offers a full continuum of senior living and related health care services including short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and assisted living, all offered in a homelike setting that features an abundance of private rooms, chef-prepared meals, and services specially tailored to meet residents’ individual preferences. Also located on the RidgeWood Campus is The Legacy, a neighborhood designed specifically to care for up to 30 people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. RidgeWood will be operated by Trilogy Health Services.
According to Randall Bufford, President and CEO of Trilogy, “Our commitment to a servant leadership culture and our dedication to providing exceptional customer service that exceeds our customers’ expectations are the cornerstones of Trilogy’s operating philosophy. When you have great services, delivered by a dedicated and compassionate team of caregivers, in our ‘Town Square’ residential model, the result is a senior living experience that allows our residents to live a truly meaningful life.”
“We like to say you can feel the difference the minute you walk in the door of one of our campuses, and you see it everywhere you look,” Bufford continued. “From staff engagement and our focus on resident personal preferences, to the local flavors on our menus, and even the names given to our different residential hallways – everything at a Trilogy campus is focused on our customers’ preferences and helping them have strong social connections, engagement and purpose, while providing options for clinical care. Now our residents in Lawrenceburg will have the benefit of enjoying all of this in our new health campus.”
Community members are invited to an Open House at RidgeWood Health Campus on Sunday, April 10th from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. RidgeWood is located at 181 Campus Drive in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, across from Dearborn County Hospital. The campus was constructed on property purchased from the hospital.
“We welcome the RidgeWood Health Campus as our neighbor,” stated Peter V. Resnick, Dearborn County Hospital Executive Director. “RidgeWood will provide an additional option for individuals seeking a senior living or rehabilitation facility. DCH has a good working relationship with the area’s current senior living facilities and we are sure that will extend to our new colleagues at the RidgeWood Health Campus.”
RidgeWood Health Campus features private suites and numerous living rooms where residents can relax and visit with guests. The Legacy at RidgeWood is designed to provide maximum independence and personalized care in a secured environment. The Legacy features “life stations” that encourage residents to engage in familiar tasks, and décor that encourages reminiscing, in addition to a secured courtyard, family-style dining, and private bedrooms with private baths. The specially-designed activity program, based on protocols embraced by advocacy groups such as the Alzheimer’s Association and the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, are responsive to the energy patterns of those living with dementia. Staff working in The Legacy receive additional dementia-specific training that encompasses person-centered approaches to care, communication techniques, and behavioral interventions.
“Everything about our campus is tailored to meet our residents’ needs and personal choices,” said John Hutchinson, Executive Director of RidgeWood. “Our campus is organized into neighborhoods allowing our caregivers and residents to establish long-term relationships where they can truly get to know each other. We carry that same resident-centered focus through to our activity planning, our menu selections, and other campus programs. We invite members of the community to join us at our Open House on April 10th to tour our campus and meet our campus team members.”
