Louisville, KY (July 26 2011) Today is "moving day" for the residents of West Winds Health Center. Since last fall, the forty-plus facility residents have been anticipating their move to their brand new home. Today, the dream becomes a reality as the residents move to Westlake Health Campus. While the journey may be short in distance (Westlake is located on a lot adjacent to West Winds in Commerce, Michigan), the difference in their new home is immeasurable.

Westlake Health Campus offers a full continuum of senior living and related health care services, including short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and assisted living; all offered in a homelike setting that features an abundance of private rooms with private baths, chef-prepared meals, and services specially tailored to meet resident's individual preferences. Westlake replaces West Winds Health Center, which Trilogy acquired in 2008. It is the company's 66th location.

According to Randall Bufford, President and CEO of Trilogy, "We were excited to have the opportunity to serve the seniors of the Commerce area when we first purchased West Winds in 2008. We are even more enthusiastic today to be able to offer these services in our 'Town Square' model community."

The comparisons and contrasts between West Winds Health Center and Westlake Health Campus are numerous. The new campus measures over 60,000 square feet compared to just 16,000 square feet at West Winds, a 40 year old cinderblock building with 3-bed wards, one shower room for the entire center, and very little common space. The new campus offers primarily private resident suites equipped with private baths and walk-in showers. The new therapy gym boasts state-of-the-art equipment, including Life Trail therapy equipment in the adjacent courtyard, which allows residents to complete part of their therapy outside, if they prefer. Nurses' stations and information desks are located throughout the campus compared to the one central station in the current facility, allowing caregivers to be more accessible to their residents.

"Our residents, staff and family members are all overwhelmed by their amazing new home," commented Colleen Higgins, Executive Director of Westlake. "We've been joking that it's like living an episode of 'Extreme Home Makeover,' the differences between West Winds and Westlake are that significant. We had family members actually cry when they saw their loved one's new home."

Other differences emphasize the homelike feeling created by Trilogy's Town Square floor plan. Sunlight streaming in from windows in the Health Center cupola, and the clock tower, plants and benches in the center of the Town Square are just a few small examples of the common areas that create a sense of community at Westlake. Around the Square, living rooms, a bistro, and a sunroom offer places to sit and visit, bake a batch of cookies, play a game of pool, or enjoy a moment's relaxation. Watercolor painting, gardening, foreign language classes and discussion of current events are just a few choices on the day's agenda. Private resident suites, with private baths, a nurses station, and living room create neighborhoods that each named based on local landmarks and favorites.

"Our commitment to a servant leadership culture and our dedication to providing exceptional customer service that exceeds our customer's expectations are the cornerstones of Trilogy's operating philosophy," Bufford continued. "When you have great services, delivered by a dedicated and compassionate team of caregivers, the result is a senior living experience that allows our residents to live a truly meaningful life. From staff engagement and our focus on resident personal preferences, to the local flavors on our menus, and even the names given to our different residential neighborhoods – everything at a Trilogy campus is focused on meeting our goals of home, hospitality and healthcare."

The opening of Westlake wraps up what has been an excellent year of growth for Trilogy Health Services in 2011. Included in this year's openings and expansions are: opening of Ridgewood Health Campus and The Legacy at Ridgewood (Lawrenceburg, IN); construction and opening of a new state-of-the-art Health Center at Blair Ridge Health Campus (Peru, IN); construction and opening of The Legacy at Spring Mill (Merrillville, IN); and, opening of a Westport Place Health Campus (Louisville, KY).

Future 2012 Trilogy expansion plans include the opening of new health campuses in the Midwest in Indiana (Valparaiso, Bloomington Greensburg, New Albany); Michigan (Lapeer, Macomb, Okemos, Grand Blanc and Clinton), two new campuses in Lexington, KY, a replacement facility in Willard, OH; and the addition of Legacy memory care neighborhoods at current Trilogy locations in Columbus and Greenfield, IN and at the new Westlake Health Campus in Commerce, MI.
