Showing up for work every day isn’t easy. Things get in the way, or, as they say, “life happens.” A pipe bursts, a pet gets sick, a kid gets sick, you get sick, the darn car won’t start, again! There are nearly unlimited, unexpected wrenches that can be thrown into your spokes, causing you to make that phone call, “I can’t make it in today.”
Out of Trilogy’s 14,500 employees, 1,339 never made that call in 2016. 862 of these employees were hourly. No matter what happened, no matter what crazy things life threw their way, they came in to work. Not many companies can say that they employ people this dedicated, and we couldn’t be more thankful. When you’re in the business of taking care of others, your presence (or absence) makes a huge difference. Randy Bufford, our President and CEO, phrased it this way, “Better things happen for our customers and our peers when we show up when we’re scheduled.”
We’re a company that believes in the power of recognition, so when it comes to those with perfect attendance, we not only give these employees a $250 bonus, an extra day of PTO, and $15 a month, we hold a special Perfect Attendance Drawing, where they have a chance to win $1,000, $1,500, $2,500, or $5,000!
This year, the drawing was held via live stream at our Home Office in Louisville, Kentucky. Employees from 105 campuses across Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan watched as Randy dipped his hand into a large bucket and pulled out name after name. Each announcement was followed by applause, cheers, and the occasional excited scream.
|Kim Heacock, Director of Environmental Services at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg, Indiana, was the winner of the $1,000 prize. “I am very grateful to be on the Amber Manor team,” she said. “I plan on sharing all of my winnings with my coworkers!”|
|The $1,500 prize was awarded to Debbie Railsback, Guest Relations at Harrison’s Crossing Health Campus in Terre Haute, Indiana, who plans on sharing her winnings with her grandchildren.|
$2,500 went to Sheila Denny, a CRCA at Creasy Springs Health Campus in Lafayette, Indiana. Sheila has been with Creasy Springs since the day the campus opened, and needless to say, she was a bit shocked when her name was announced (as you can see in her photo)!
|Jeanine King, an Environmental Services Assistant at The Heritage in Findlay, Ohio, took home the $5,000 Grand Prize. Jeanine said, “It was an amazing feeling. I am just so excited – I never expected to win! I am still in shock. I want to thank God, Trilogy, and The Heritage!”|
We would like to thank every employee who went above and beyond for their residents and coworkers in 2016. According to stats shared by Randy at the drawing, 1 out of every 6 Trilogy employees had perfect attendance last year. Below are some other stats that we found impressive!
