When many people think of the word ‘internship’, they picture themselves fetching coffee, running errands, or performing mindless busywork that no one else wants to do, in the hopes that their hard work will turn into a full-time position. At Trilogy, we treat internships a bit differently. We make it a point to give our interns opportunities to participate, to learn, and to grow. We hire interns that show dedication and promise, and always do our best to equip them with the tools they need to create a career to be proud of. Few things make us happier than seeing our employees succeed. Jennifer Reeb began her career with us as an intern, and has inspired everyone around her with her growth. When we asked her to share some of her story with us, here’s what she said.

"When I started my internship at River Pointe Health Campus in 2011, I never imagined that I would end up finding my passion and a career that I love. Trilogy encourages a lot of teamwork, which allows employees to understand the positions that their team members hold. Trilogy also encourages promoting from within. I was hired out of my internship and provided with a scholarship to take the course to get my Activity Director Certification. Once that was complete, I was ready to grow.

Trilogy did not have any open Life Enrichment Director positions at the time, but it was worth it for me to wait. When an opportunity became available at our campus in Boonville, I applied, interviewed, and was offered the position! While serving as a Department Leader, I was able to learn so much about leadership and managing employees. Through working closely with other departments, I found that I had an interest in marketing and admissions. I applied for an open position within the campus and I was promoted!

When I learned of a new campus opening back in Evansville where I live, I inquired about the transfer and applied for a couple of positions there. Through the interview process, I was offered the position as Community Service Representative! I was shocked! When I was offered the position I didn’t even know what to say, but I somehow managed to blurt out, ‘Yes!’

I have learned so much through working for Trilogy. I truly believe that I have grown in leaps and bounds in my personal career. Through this career, I have been given the opportunity to help so many people. I’ve helped families place their loved one in a campus close to home, I’ve taken a resident to their granddaughter’s wedding, I’ve helped a resident use LifeShare to view pictures of their great-great-grandbaby, and I’ve been a listening ear when things get tough and a resident wants to talk to someone who understands. Working for Trilogy is not the easiest position I have ever held, but it is by far the most rewarding."
