Living With Purpose

Campus: Cumberland Pointe, West Lafayette, IN

Clarence K., devoted patriot and veteran, joined The American Legion in 1945 after serving his country during WWII, and has been an active member ever since. The Life Enrichment Team at Cumberland Pointe felt that Clarence deserved to be recognized, and so did the American Legion. Together, they organized a special ceremony for Clarence. Staff members, residents, and Clarence’s family all gathered to present Clarence with a certificate, honoring his 70 years of active membership on behalf of the American Legion. As an extra gift, Clarence and his wife Dolores were presented with a canvassed picture of Clarence taken during his years of service. Listed on it were his rank, ship name, and branch of service. Always humble, Clarence was heard to remark “I did what I was supposed to do and served my country.” We thank Clarence from the bottom of our hearts for his years of service, both in the military and as a member of the American Legion!
